Greetings, Quotes, Wishes for All the Events of the Year

Text Messages you need for all your daily needs

The day God took you home

You never said I’m leaving

You never said goodbye

You were gone before I knew it,

And only God knew why

A million times I needed you,

A million times I cried

If Love alone could have saved you,

You never would have died

In Life I loved you dearly

In death I love you still

In my heart you hold a place,

That no one could ever fill

It broke my heart to lose you,

But you didn’t go alone

For part of me went with you,

The day God took you home.

  1. this poem is a rip off of my poem it was originally wrote in 1994 the full original version is on a plaque on my living room wall along with an award. My name at the time was Catrina Batten and it was written because i didnt get to go to my fathers funeral when i was a kid.The ending is suppose to be "I wish I could've been there the day god took you home." It is actually 26 lines long not 16. I keep seeing this version of my poem like the above. everywhere. It would be nice to get credit for it but i wouldn't know where to begin

    1. It does not matter if you did or did not write this. It is very pretty and touching just know that if God gave you the talent to write something like this be happy it can make others smile and sad at the same time. Do not take credit for what God has given you it is in his glory we should shine…

    1. you are right, i wasn’t thinking about how much it could help someone else the way it helped me by writing it. I write alot and I guess I should share to others and help them instead of keeping it to myself. Thanks for the kind words and guidance Nate.

  3. Catrina I want you to know how much comfort your poem has given me. My mother passed away this past July and your poem says it all. It has helped me so much.I have seen it many times and often wondered who had the heart and talent to write something so poignant. I want to thank you for writing it. It brings many people comfort. Yes, you should receive credit for writing something that is so touching. Thank you. Sincerely,Patti Cabrera
